[caption id="attachment_1978" align="aligncenter" width="522" caption="Three have announced a new 'value MiFi' due soon: the Huawei E5331"][/caption]
There are few detail available at present, but Three say the device will have the same functionality as the E586 model (their current model) offering:
- One button connection
- Up to 21.1 Mbps technical standard Download (HSPA+)
- Up to 5.76 Mbps technical standard Uplink (HSUPA)
- 4.5 hours battery life
To reduce cost the E586's OLED screen is replaced by a set of LED icons, but the E3551 does retain support for HSPA+ speeds which I have seen reach up to 10Mb in real-world testing.
No price has been announced yet, but Three say it will bring "the speed and benefit of WiFi on-the-go to a whole new audience". Current models retail from £85 pre-pay inculding 3GB data.
More details to come.
