I want the USA's 4G networks but not their tariffs...

Gizmodo reports that Verizon's 4G LTE Mobile hotspot has arrived:

Download speeds range between 5-12 Mbps, and upload speeds are between 2-5 Mbps in areas where coverage is adequate.

...plans start at $50/month for 5GB of data.

...and whilst I'm jealous of those speeds - the best we're seeing in the UK (in real-world use) is about 4Mbps down and 1.5Mbps up - I don't envy that cost. It's about double the best rates operators like Three UK offer.

It's also worth remembering that at these higher speeds it will be possible to burn through a data allowance of 5GB (accidentally or through normal use) much more quickly - PC Mag reckons it's technically possible to do this in 32 minutes at full speed. That's probably overstating it slightly, but a single day is quite realistic.
