Irony: Advertising Standards Authority and the misleading advert

I nearly fell out of my chair when I saw this poster James had snapped: ASA advertising poster

A stark warning - clearly aimed at the ‘online’ goods and services suppliers - that ‘misleading marketing’ is in for the same strict treatment it gets in the good-old reliable print world.

Yikes.

Still, there’s not much to fear if you are a retailer misleading customers online - this is the same ASA that is absolutely fine with 250MB data being called ‘unlimited’ as long as sufficient small print is provided.

Whew…. Looks like all you’ll need to do is reach for the extra small fonts and carry on as normal.
